Adoption itself can be a complex subject. Many intricacies are often involved, as they differ between good and bad experiences. To shed light on one of the aspects of adoption, Yinka Buutfeld, who was adopted herself, reflected with her project on the many questions surrounding adoption.
With ‘Imaginary Mom’, Yinka has wondered who her possible biological mother could be. Its purpose is to communicate, allowing the viewer to potentially identify with these questions, whether one is adopted or not.
Yinka describes her mother through poetic expressions, connecting her inner child with a rich imagination by illustrating her possible character traits.
