Over 40% of the total waste in the Netherlands comes from construction, demolition or industry. There is no good solution for much of this material. At the same time, raw materials are extracted more than ever.
Commonly used raw materials such as sand and gravel are becoming increasingly scarce, as they are extracted at a rate much greater than their natural renewal. Excavation also has a negative impact on organisms, habitats and ecosystems.
The production of materials for the construction sector accounts for 11 percent of global CO₂ emissions. And these trends are continuing at a rapid pace.
By experimenting with new, cutting-edge technologies, creating different types of sustainable building materials for a variety of applications, we are working towards our mission to create beautiful building materials from 100% upcycled waste, with a positive carbon impact on our planet.
