BASKET: High-TECH vs. Low-TECH. Seable&Co. and Studio Ro Smit have started a co-creation with the Project High-TECH versus Low-TECH. In this project they pooled their expertise and developed a Basket collection inspired by the traditional fishing baskets that were made around the Zuiderzee. Ro Smit has developed modular elements from the waste streams from the natural stone and teak wood production of Seable&Co., from which the baskets are made. The stone slap scanner used at Seable&Co. makes it possible to scan the different materials and use the material as efficient as possible via computer-controlled programs. These materials are cut out via the Waterjet and finished by the professionals of Seable&Co. With these elements, the baskets are knotted together by hand in Ro Smit's Maekplaats. The MAEKPLAATS is a daytime activity for people with a distance to the labor market. The end result is shown in this Collection Baskets, which also function as table bases.
