orange or red designer Marieke van Heck combines traditional techniques with contemporary design, creating a process where graphics, textile and product design merge together. ‘OR' refers to the choices a designer is always faced with during the development process and the nuances that characterize her work. Sustainability is an important driver here; the designs are produced in The Netherlands of fine, natural materials. The result is a collection of everyday design objects that stimulate your senses and give you the opportunity to personalize your living environment.
DASHES We increasingly use one space for different purposes. To make the space more flexible, orange or red has developed Dashes, in collaboration with Textielmuseum. This textile object can be used as a tapestry as well as a connector between the different surfaces in a room - wall, floor, furniture and ceiling. Various weaving techniques are used to create this object, combining industrial and artisan methods. As a result a dialogue takes place between the surfaces, both in the textile itself and in its application in a room.
