Lensvelt is an award-winning, dedicated, Amsterdam-based design and furniture label founded in 1962. We produce high-end furniture by collaborating with renowned designers and artists like Maarten Baas, Joep van Lieshout and Erik Kessels, who all like to challenge the status quo in their own way. Lensvelt provides (interior) architects with the tools to create unforgettable spaces.

During this year’s edition of GLUE, Lensvelt invited artist Erik Kessels to create a total experience at the Lensvelt Gallery at Herengracht 178. Visitors are welcome to step into Erik Kessels’ mysterious mind; a one-off live performance and a (simplistic) conceptual whole inspired by Kessels’ book A Pictorial History of the Empty Chair.

Lensvelt embraced the idea and brought the Empty Chair to life by producing and developing the chair and offering it as a package: buy the book get the chair.

The Empty Chair with matching book will be available to purchase for 120 Euro (excl. VAT) via www.lensvelt.com.

Erik Kessels is a Dutch artist, designer, curator and lecturer with great interest in photography. Since 1996 he is Creative Partner of communications agency KesselsKramer in Amsterdam and works for national and international clients such as Nike, Diesel, J&B Whisky, Oxfam, Vitra and Citizen M.
