For over thirty years, Vrije Academie has been the largest educational institute for art & culture and makes knowledge in those fields accessible to the widest possible audience. Over 140 passionate freelance art historians and teachers from all over The Netherlands take care of these activities. Out of our head office in Amsterdam, our enthusiastic team provides an up-to-date, broad and original range of educational offer in more than fifty cities and towns in The Netherlands on a daily basis.
In addition to a great deal of art history, Vrije Academie’s program also includes history, music history, photography, architecture, philosophy, psychology, literature and science. Our mission is a grand one: to enrich the lives of people, young and old alike, by offering art and cultural education in an inspiring and special way.
