The work of our community is displayed in an exhibition that guides you through all corners of our own ‘city’; join the Critical Makers Dinners, attend design related lectures, visit studios of the creative residents at Contact Amsterdam or participate in round table discussions hosted by Dutch Design Daily.

Program
Friday 18 September
PODIUM: 17.00 – 17.30. The pro’s and con’s of circular design: a case study of Contact Amsterdam
Is circular design always the correct end to a means? In some cases recycling material actually might be less environmentally friendly than implementing new products.
Architect Fieke Tissink (Royal HaskoningDHV) takes examples from the circular construction of Contact Amsterdam to give us new points of consideration in our mission to sustainability.
Saturday 19 September
MAKER SPACE DEMO: 12.00 – 18.00. 3D printer, laser cutter and CNC mill
Podium: 14.00 – 15.30. Critical Making X Inclusive Design Panel
Did you know that custom made design for consumers with specific needs or wishes actually can be more beneficial to a large portion of our society than ‘one size fits all’ products?
Loes Bogers & Letizia Chiappini, editors of the Critical Maker Reader give an introduction on Critical Making and host a panel talk discussing inclusivity in design. Panel t.b.a.
Sunday 20 September
MAKER SPACE DEMO: 12.00 – 18.00. 3D printer, laser cutter and CNC mill
Podium: 12.00 – 18.00. Critical Making Cinema: Making – Living – Sharing (45 minutes, ongoing) Jens Dyvik is a designer specialized in global collaboration and local manufacturing. He works with emotional connections between people and products, and aims to create services and products that help make those connections meaningful. In April 2013 he concluded a two-year research world tour, where he worked at open collaborative workspaces in all corners of the world. Jens dreams to make a living from an open and sharing design approach. His research into open design and personal manufacturing is aiming to realize this dream. He is currently running Fellesverkstedet in Oslo, and investigates in machines that make machines.
